01/The verdict
Rooms of AI coding agents (manager, senior and mid-level roles) that build and maintain client apps for agencies on retainer. Agencies pay prepaid usage credits at cost plus 5.5%.
Aldena is a coordination layer on top of foundation-model coding agents. It has per-client rooms, role hierarchies, an approval gate and GitHub/Bitbucket integrations, and a capable builder with Claude Code can rebuild all of that in a couple of weeks. It has nothing a clone would struggle to match: $4 of verified revenue all time, 1 active subscription, 5 visitors a month, a founder with about 332 X followers, and no funding. Pricing at cost plus 5.5% also means any rival can undercut it or simply resell the model directly.
02/1 moat
Shallow
Agents work through tools like GitHub and Bitbucket, plus deploy pipelines and a QA server for each room. These are standard OAuth and API integrations with no approval wait.
To cross it: Wire up the GitHub and Bitbucket APIs and a sandboxed CI runner, which takes days with existing SDKs.
03/The gap
Easy to copy
- Agent hierarchy and delegation (manager, senior and mid-level roles) are prompt orchestration that open-source frameworks like CrewAI already provide
- An isolated room per client with shared memory is basic multi-tenant scoping
- A PR-based approval gate and an audit log come free with GitHub workflows
- Cost-plus-5.5% credit pricing leaves almost no margin to defend
How you'd go after it
- Bundle the same workflow into an existing agency tool (Linear, ClickUp or an agency client-portal product) where agencies already work
- Offer a fixed monthly price per client retainer instead of usage credits, so agencies can predict their margin
- Go after one vertical, such as Shopify or WordPress maintenance agencies, with ready-made skills for that stack
- Package Claude Code or Codex background agents with a simple client-room UI and sell it through agency communities
04/Build against it?
Stay away
The labs and well-funded agent startups (Cognition, Factory, OpenAI, Anthropic) are shipping this as a feature. Without a distribution edge, such as an existing audience of agency owners, a thin orchestration layer gets squeezed fast.
