Terms of Service

Last updated 27 October 2026

The rules for using doesithaveamoat.com and for buying a sponsor slot, written to be read. The short version: reports are AI opinions, not advice; don't abuse the site; sponsor slots are one-off payments, refunded if we don't deliver.

01Who we are

doesithaveamoat.com (“the site”, “we”, “us”) is run by Elderine Holdings, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company at 800 N King Street, Suite 304-3288, Wilmington, DE 19801, United States.

By using the site or buying a sponsor slot you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

02Using the site

Browsing and checking startups is free. To keep it that way, there are limits on how many new checks one person can start each day, and on how many the site runs in total. Please don't:

  • use bots, scripts or scrapers to start checks, copy the site or get around the limits
  • attack, overload or probe the site, or interfere with anyone else using it
  • submit websites you know are unlawful, or use the site to break any law
  • pretend to be us, or suggest we endorse you when we don't

We can block access, cancel checks or remove content when we think these rules are being broken.

03Moat reports are opinions

Every score, verdict and report on the site is an opinion, written by an AI model (Claude, made by Anthropic) from public information it found on the web, and scored against our own rubric. It is not a statement of fact about any company.

  • Reports can be incomplete, out of date or wrong. Each one is dated and lists its sources so you can check them.
  • Nothing on the site is financial, investment, legal or business advice. Don't buy, sell, build or invest based on it alone.
  • Revenue figures come from TrustMRR, which reads them from the startup's payment provider. We show them as TrustMRR provides them and don't verify them ourselves.
  • Company names, logos and trademarks belong to their owners. Showing them doesn't mean those companies are connected to us or endorse the site.

04Corrections and removal

If you run a startup on the site and something in its report is wrong, email will@elderine.co with what's off and, if you can, a source. We'll look at it and may correct the report, check the startup again, or take the report down. We decide what stays up, but we take every request seriously.

05Websites you submit

When you paste a website, we read its public pages and research it on the web, and the report we write about it is public at its own address. Only submit public websites. Submitting a site doesn't give you any rights over its report.

06Sponsorships

A sponsor slot shows your startup's name, logo and one-line pitch, linking to your website:

  • Where: beside the pages of the site on wide screens, and in a row at the top on narrower screens and phones.
  • How long: for the number of days shown on the sponsor page when you buy, starting the moment your payment is confirmed.
  • Price: shown in US dollars before you pay. It's a one-time payment, taken by Stripe. Nothing renews or charges you again.
  • Stats: you get a private link with your slot's views and clicks. These are our own measurements, with bots filtered out as best we can. We don't promise any number of views, clicks, signups or sales.

Your slot must not promote anything illegal, deceptive or harmful. That includes scams and get-rich-quick schemes, adult content, gambling, weapons, drugs, malware, hate, impersonating someone else, or a link that later changes into any of those. We can turn down a sponsor before they pay, and remove a live slot that breaks these rules.

Want to change your name, pitch, logo or link while you're live? Reply to your confirmation email or write to will@elderine.co. We make reasonable changes for free. To make sure a slot stays readable, pitches are kept to 70 characters and names to 40.

We keep a log of your slot's views and clicks (including when they happened and the visitor's country and device type) as a record that your slot ran, and we may share it with Stripe or your bank if a payment is disputed.

07Refunds

  • Never went live: if you pay and your slot doesn't go live, you get a full refund.
  • We end it early: if we take your slot down early for any reason other than you breaking these terms, or the site closes, we refund the days you didn't get.
  • Broke the rules: if we remove a slot because it breaks these terms, there's no refund.
  • Changed your mind: once your slot is live, we don't refund it for a change of mind or because it got fewer clicks than you hoped.

Refunds go back to the card you paid with and usually show up within 5 to 10 business days. If you think you're owed one, please email will@elderine.co before disputing the charge with your bank. We reply quickly and would much rather sort it out with you directly.

08Our content

The site's design, code, rubric and the reports we write belong to us. You're welcome to share reports, quote them and post screenshots, as long as you link back to the site and don't pass them off as your own. Sponsors give us permission to show their name, logo, pitch and link for the length of their slot.

09Disclaimers

The site is provided “as is” and “as available”. As far as the law allows, we make no promises that it will be accurate, uninterrupted, error-free or fit for any particular purpose, and we disclaim all warranties, express or implied.

10Limit of liability

As far as the law allows, Elderine Holdings, LLC and the people behind it won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the site or anything on it.

Our total liability for any claim about the site or a sponsorship is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and US$50.

You agree to cover us for claims brought by others that come from content you gave us (such as a sponsor's pitch or link) or from you breaking these terms.

11Changes and governing law

We may update these terms from time to time; the date at the top shows the latest version. Changes don't affect a sponsor slot you've already paid for. If you keep using the site after an update, the new terms apply.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, and disputes go to the courts of Delaware. If you're a consumer, nothing here takes away rights you have under the laws of the country you live in.
