01/The verdict
A Chrome extension that copies components, colours and fonts from any website as React, Tailwind, HTML, Vue or Svelte code, and passes them to coding agents over MCP. Front-end developers and AI-assisted builders pay $35 once for lifetime access.
Copying elements from a page as code is a crowded category. DivMagic, CopyUI, CSS To Tailwind, cssPicker and Excompt are already in it, along with open-source repos on GitHub. Xtractly's Chrome Web Store page shows 29 users and a 1.0 average from 2 ratings. I found no named founder, no audience, no funding and no press, and the name is shared with an unrelated document-parsing company. The MCP library feature is a fresh angle, but a weekend of work copies it. A $35 one-time price also means customers have no data or subscription keeping them there.
02/Moats
No moats found. Nothing here would take a good clone longer than a week.
03/The gap
Easy to copy
- Element capture to React, Tailwind, HTML, Vue or Svelte. DivMagic, CopyUI and several free extensions already do this.
- Colour and font extraction. CSS Peeper has done this for years.
- The MCP Agent Bridge that serves saved components to Claude, Cursor and Codex. A small local MCP server can be built in days.
- Chrome Web Store listing. Publishing an extension takes days of review, not months, and only needs page access permissions.
How you'd go after it
- Release a free open-source version with MCP built in. Developers would pick it over a $35 paid extension with a 1.0 rating.
- Outrank it on 'copy website as Tailwind' and 'DivMagic alternative' searches. Xtractly has no visible search presence and shares its name with an unrelated company.
- Put it inside the agent itself: a Claude Code or Cursor skill using Chrome DevTools MCP gets the styles of any URL with no extension needed.
- Go after designers with Figma export and design-token sync, which the developer-focused extensions cover poorly.
04/Build against it?
Stay away
Established extensions and free clones already serve the market, and AI agents with browser access are making the job unnecessary. Only try it if you already reach front-end developers through an audience or a top SEO position.
