01/The verdict

A waitlist-stage register for UK main contractors that collects each subcontractor's insurance, accreditations, tax and bank details, scores them and chases renewals. Contractors would pay; pricing isn't set yet.

What it sells is a form for each trade, file uploads, expiry dates, reminder emails, a weighted score and role permissions. All of that copies in days, and many small UK contractors already do it with a spreadsheet and calendar alerts. It is still on a waitlist with no public pricing. Its only proof is one case study from CareSpaces and logos from the same group (Wealden Rehab, and likely Kingkraft), and I found no founder audience, funding, integrations or certifications.

02/2 moats

~1 mo to cross

The site says it was built by a contractor for contractors. CareSpaces' sales manager credits it with saving 13.5 or more hours a week, and the team set it up around that customer's trades and documents. This is domain know-how plus hands-on onboarding, not a barrier.

To cross it: Spend a few weeks with two or three UK principal contractors to learn their trade-by-trade document rules, then offer the same done-for-you setup.

~1 mo to cross

Once a contractor's subcontractors have uploaded their documents and history builds up in the audit trail, moving means re-inviting the whole supply chain. That is mild lock-in, and with almost no customers it barely applies yet.

To cross it: Offer free CSV and bulk import plus a re-invite campaign, so moving over costs the contractor nothing.

03/The gap

Easy to copy

  • Per-trade document checklists, uploads and expiry reminders
  • Weighted Bronze/Silver/Gold scoring and coverage-area tags
  • Role-based access, audit log and signed short-lived file links
  • No-login subcontractor upload link and white-label branding

How you'd go after it

  • Bundle verification it doesn't have yet: HMRC CIS checks, Companies House lookups and live SSIP or Constructionline status
  • Publish a low flat monthly price now while SubbyFlow keeps its pricing behind a waitlist
  • Win the SEO for 'subcontractor insurance tracking UK' with free tools and checklists, which SubComply and Site Samurai are already doing
  • Sell to a vertical such as FM, M&E or housing repairs, with its own trade templates already filled in

04/Build against it?

Stay away

UK subcontractor compliance already has several funded or SEO-heavy players, plus big accreditation bodies like Constructionline and CHAS. A newcomer only makes sense with an existing route into contractors, such as an accreditation body, an insurer or a construction ERP partner.
