Does Nothing Held Back have a moat?

Kinda.

27/100 · Shallow moat

“The courses and community platform are a month's build. What isn't copyable is Alen Sultanic's 20-year direct response name and his Facebook group.”

01/The verdict

A paid marketing and business education membership run by direct response marketer Alen Sultanic. It has live calls, courses, swipe files and a community. Members pay about $97 a month for NHB Plus and about $500 a month for NHB Pro.

What members buy is Alen Sultanic's teaching, his coaches and his name, not the software. A clone of the portal, forum, AI helper and templates takes weeks, but nobody can clone his 20-year track record. I found no verified follower counts or member numbers, and the site still shows a waitlist for a new platform. That keeps the score shallow, not real.

02/3 moats

Time won't do it

Alen Sultanic says he has built 300+ offers, run 35+ launches and had many ClickBank number-one offers over 20+ years. He posts heavily on X (3,300+ posts) and runs a newsletter. Copywriting.org lists him among copywriters to follow. I could not confirm his follower counts.

To cross it: A challenger would need their own respected direct response operator who members trust, which time and money alone don't buy.

~12 mo to cross

The free Nothing Held Back Facebook group started in 2021 and feeds the paid tiers. The founder's X posts and newsletter also bring in leads. Review sites such as FindFocus cover the product. Group size is unverified.

To cross it: Build a free community and newsletter in the same niche and convert it, which takes a year or more of steady posting.

~12 mo to cross

Third-party review sites describe member feedback as very positive. It also has named coaches, such as Loren Pinilis for Facebook ads and Charles Kirkland. These reviews may be affiliate content, so I weigh them lightly.

To cross it: Gather member results and case studies over a year or more.

03/The gap

Easy to copy

  • Courses, templates, swipe files and a Framer landing page copy in weeks
  • A member portal with forum, live chat and an AI question bot (MindAI) is a standard build
  • Weekly live calls and Q&A can be matched by any credible marketer
  • Pricing tiers of $97 and $500 a month are easy to undercut

How you'd go after it

  • Undercut on price with a cheaper community on Skool, which hosts many marketing communities
  • Pick one niche, such as Facebook ads for coaches or email for ecommerce, and out-specialize the generalist content
  • Hire or partner with a known operator who has a bigger audience on YouTube or X
  • Sell a done-with-you or results-guaranteed offer instead of general education

04/Build against it?

Only with an edge

Only go in if you have a real name or track record in direct response or paid ads. Without one, you would be selling the same content to an audience you don't have.
