01/The verdict

LeadShark auto-replies to LinkedIn post commenters and DMs them a lead magnet, with connection requests, email capture and an MCP for AI agents. LinkedIn creators, founders and agencies pay $39 to $249 a month.

LeadShark claims 1,500+ creators and 2.7M+ DMs delivered since its September 2024 launch. Its main assets are being early, a founder with a mid-size audience and an agency partner network. LinkedIn grants no official API access for this, so there are no platform approvals to protect it. A clone can run on the same session-based automation or a unified API like Unipile, and several already do, including Saylink, LinkMagnet and LeadMagnetPilot.

02/3 moats

~4 mo to cross

Its 'original lead magnet automation' positioning, a partners page of LinkedIn growth agencies that resell or recommend it, and a blog that ranks for 'ManyChat for LinkedIn' searches. It reports 1,500+ creators, and they likely spread it by word of mouth.

To cross it: Publish comparison and 'ManyChat for LinkedIn' SEO content and sign 10 to 20 LinkedIn ghostwriting agencies with a recurring rev share.

Time won't do it

Founder Ruzgar Zere (@ruzgarzere, Tallinn) builds in public and runs a workshop on growing a 25K audience across LinkedIn and Substack. That helps, but the audience is modest.

To cross it: Launch with a LinkedIn creator who has a bigger audience as co-founder or affiliate, and dogfood the tool on their lead magnet posts.

~1 mo to cross

Customers keep running automations, Kit and Beehiiv syncs, webhooks, email-gated pages and MCP setups in LeadShark. All of these are light and quick to recreate elsewhere.

To cross it: Offer one-click import of active post automations and lead lists, plus a free first month.

03/The gap

Easy to copy

  • The core flow (watch comments for a keyword, reply, send a DM or connection request) runs on an unofficial LinkedIn session or Unipile-style API that anyone can use
  • Kit and Beehiiv syncs, webhooks, click tracking and email-gated pages are each a day of work
  • The MCP server for Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor is a thin wrapper that a clone can ship in days
  • Scheduling posts with an automation attached is a common feature that Taplio-style tools already have

How you'd go after it

  • Undercut on price: LinkMagnet already sells at €29 a month against LeadShark's $39 to $119, and unlimited automations or non-connection DMs could be cheaper than $119
  • Bundle comment-to-DM inside a broader LinkedIn creator suite (scheduling, analytics, ghostwriting AI) so it isn't a separate subscription
  • Compete on account safety: conservative rate limits, human-like delays and public ban-rate stats, since LinkedIn has banned HeyReach, Apollo and Seamless
  • Go after agencies with multi-seat pricing below LeadShark's $186 to $249 for 3 profiles

04/Build against it?

Stay away

There are many clones at low prices, no platform barrier, and every player is exposed to LinkedIn shutting down unofficial automation. Only go in if you already own a large LinkedIn creator audience or an agency channel to sell through.
