01/The verdict

Done-for-you Reddit posting and commenting from the agency's own established accounts, sold to startups and brands that want to be cited in AI search ($99 to $4,000 a month).

Launch Club is mostly a managed service: per its pricing page, it posts for clients from its own established Reddit accounts, and its software only finds threads and drafts comments. A challenger needs aged accounts, a few writers and some case studies, which takes a quarter, not years. Revenue fell from $91k in August to about $33k in October with 17 active subscriptions, the founder is building AutoM8, and the business is listed for sale, so the edge looks like it is wearing off.

02/3 moats

~3 mo to cross

Every plan publishes through Launch Club's own established Reddit accounts. The founder claims 100M+ Reddit impressions for clients and grew out of a Product Hunt and Reddit engagement group he started around 2022.

To cross it: Buy or age a pool of high-karma accounts, hire 2 or 3 Reddit-native writers, and run a few free campaigns to collect proof.

Time won't do it

Ken Savage has been doing SEO for about 25 years. He writes for Search Engine Land and has been quoted by Backlinko and Foundation as a Reddit marketing expert. But he has only about 6k X followers, and sales come mainly from Meta ads, cold email and cold DMs.

To cross it: Publish Reddit and AI-visibility case studies and get bylines in SEO trade outlets. The niche credibility he has is easy to match.

~4 mo to cross

Several years of client campaigns likely taught him which subreddits, mods and comment styles survive. The seller listing mentions 'proprietary secrets' but gives no detail.

To cross it: Learn it by running campaigns. Moderation norms are public, and the playbooks are widely shared.

03/The gap

Easy to copy

  • The opportunity report (Reddit threads ranking on Google, keyword volumes, AI-drafted comments) can be built on public Reddit and SERP APIs in days
  • $99 to $4,000 a month managed tiers with weekly reports are a standard agency package anyone can copy
  • AI-visibility reporting is already sold by dozens of GEO tools and agencies
  • Clients have no lock-in. Posted comments stay up after they cancel, so leaving costs them nothing

How you'd go after it

  • Undercut on price with self-serve software like Redreach, so founders post from their own accounts and avoid ban risk
  • Go vertical (B2B SaaS, legal, health) and sell measured AI citation share as the main KPI, as Discovered Labs and Soar already do
  • Pitch transparency and ban safety against agency-owned accounts. Redreach already runs a comparison page calling Launch Club's tactics questionable
  • Win the clients it is losing as revenue drops and the founder's attention shifts to AutoM8

04/Build against it?

Only with an edge

Demand for Reddit-driven AI visibility is real, but the space is full of agencies and Reddit can ban accounts at any time. Only go in if you already have a large pool of trusted Reddit accounts or a vertical audience you can sell to directly.
