01/The verdict

A Mac app, still on a waitlist, that turns a narrated screen recording with drawn arrows into one hosted link holding a brief and screenshots for Claude, Cursor or Codex. Developers would pay, with a free tier of 1 hour every 7 days.

Kelp records the screen, transcribes the voice, captures the arrows, asks Google and Anthropic models to write the brief, and hosts the result on Cloudflare. All of that is commodity work, and Kelp is still a waitlist with no traction, founder audience or funding we could find. The category already has Loom's Record for Agents from Atlassian, Jam's MCP links, the open-source Cap with an agent CLI, and free local apps like Annotate and Clipy.

02/Moats

No moats found. Nothing here would take a good clone longer than 2 weeks.

03/The gap

Easy to copy

  • Screen, voice and annotation capture on macOS uses standard ScreenCaptureKit and speech-to-text, which a clone can match in days
  • The structured brief (findings, should/does now, where, timestamps) is a prompt over a transcript and frames, not proprietary tech
  • A hosted link that agents can read is a static page on Cloudflare, and other tools already offer this through MCP servers
  • Support for Claude, Cursor and Codex is just pasting a URL, so there is no integration work that took effort to build

How you'd go after it

  • Ship it free and local-only, as Annotate already does, and target developers who won't upload screen recordings to a third-party cloud
  • Go cross-platform (Windows and Linux) or browser-based, since Kelp only supports Sonoma on Apple Silicon
  • Bundle the feature into a tool teams already pay for, the way Loom and Jam did, so customers don't need another app
  • Go open source with a CLI and MCP server, as Cap did, to win developer distribution through GitHub

04/Build against it?

Stay away

Atlassian's Loom and Jam already own this workflow and have distribution, and free local clones exist. A newcomer can only win with an edge like an open-source following or a big developer audience, and even then free incumbents set the price.
