01/The verdict

A web app where wedding, party and event guests scan a QR code to upload photos and videos to a shared gallery with no app. Couples and hosts pay once: €49 for Essential or €99 for All-in-One with RSVP and a wedding site.

The product is a QR code, an upload page, cloud storage, a slideshow and a guestbook. A builder with Claude Code can match all of it in about a week. Couples pay once for a single event, so there is no lock-in and no repeat purchase. I found no founder audience, funding, reviews or press, and at least 15 rivals like Guestpix, POV, GuestCam and Wedibox already sell the same thing at similar prices.

02/1 moat

~3 mo to cross

GuestShoot runs an SEO playbook: separate landing pages for weddings, parties, trips, conferences and corporate events, plus comparison pages like 'GuestShoot vs GUESTPIX'. Search results for 'QR code wedding photo sharing' are led by GuestCam, Wedibox, Guestpix and PicturesQR, not GuestShoot.

To cross it: Publish the same set of vertical and 'vs' pages and build backlinks over a few months, as dozens of rivals already do.

03/The gap

Easy to copy

  • QR or link upload to a private gallery with no guest account: storage plus a signed upload URL
  • Live slideshow, text and audio guestbook, and a digital disposable camera mode
  • RSVP, seating chart and wedding website, which Joy and Zola already give away free
  • Multi-currency pricing and translated guest pages

How you'd go after it

  • Undercut the €49 to €99 one-time price. Rivals like PicturesQR and EventShare already pitch unlimited uploads, and a free tier that saves straight to Google Drive or iCloud takes the low end.
  • Sell wholesale to wedding planners, venues and photographers so they bundle the gallery for every couple they serve. That is a repeat B2B channel GuestShoot does not appear to own.
  • Ship printed table cards and signage with the QR code through Etsy or Amazon. This reaches couples where they already shop for wedding decor.
  • Win a local market with native-language SEO and local wedding vendor partnerships, since this business is won through search and referrals rather than features.

04/Build against it?

Stay away

This is a commodity market with 15+ clones, one-time payments and no retention. Only consider it if you already own distribution to couples, such as a planner or venue network or a big wedding audience.
