Postline
Does Postline have a moat?
No.

“A 29-network scheduler with MCP is a month of Claude Code. Its only wall is platform API approvals, and a rival can pay for those with Ayrshare.”

01/The verdict
A social media scheduler for creators, teams and agencies. It covers 29 networks, with approvals, an AI assistant, an API and an MCP server, at $19, $39 or $99 a month.
Postline's first version shipped on October 15, 2026. I found no founder audience, no reviews, no funding and no customer numbers. Calendar, approvals, AI assistant, API and MCP are all features that Buffer, Publer, Postiz, Post Bridge and others already sell. The only real friction is the Meta, TikTok and LinkedIn app reviews, and the changelog suggests Postline has not fully cleared them itself.
02/2 moats
Shallow
It supports 29 networks, including X, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Reddit, Bluesky, Google Business Profile, WordPress, Medium and Nostr. Each one needs its own work to build and maintain.
To cross it: Use a unified posting API such as Ayrshare or Zernio, or fork the open-source Postiz, and cover the top 10 networks in weeks.
Shallow
Meta App Review, LinkedIn partner approval and TikTok audit are slow, and X now charges per post. The changelog lists a 'bring your own network apps' option, which suggests Postline does not hold approved apps everywhere. I could not confirm which approvals it has.
To cross it: Apply for the same API access, or resell a unified API that already holds it, and wait months for reviews.
03/The gap
Easy to copy
- The calendar, composer, previews and approval flow are standard in scheduling tools and take days to copy.
- The AI assistant, RSS auto-posting, link tracking and 'plugs' (auto-reposts) are common features.
- The API and MCP server are now offered by Buffer, Publer, Postiz, Metricool and others, so they don't set Postline apart.
- Pricing of $19 to $99 a month is in line with the market, so it doesn't lock anyone in.
How you'd go after it
- Undercut on price or offer a free tier. Postline dropped its free plan for a 7-day trial.
- Pick one niche, such as X and LinkedIn for build-in-public founders, or agencies that need client approval links, and do it better.
- Self-host with open-source Postiz, or sell a white-label version that skips Postline's per-seat tiers.
- Win on SEO and affiliate programs. Postline's affiliate program is only 'coming soon'.
04/Build against it?
Only with an edge
The market is crowded and the code is cheap to copy. Only enter with a niche, an audience or a distribution channel that brings in customers, not on features.
