01/The verdict

A daily AI task for building a skill you care about (app dev, design, writing, music production), sold to self-learners and solo builders. Pre-launch waitlist, no pricing yet.

Fix My Skill is a waitlist landing page from a solo founder named Aisha. I found no traction, audience, funding, reviews or press anywhere off-site. The product is a skill picker plus a daily LLM-generated prompt and a reminder, and users can rebuild that themselves with a ChatGPT or Claude scheduled task in a few minutes. Many funded and indie apps already sell the same daily micro-practice loop.

02/Moats

No moats found. Nothing here would take a good clone longer than a weekend.

03/The gap

Easy to copy

  • Daily task generation is one LLM prompt per discipline, and any model writes a 25-minute exercise for app dev or music production on request
  • Picking a discipline, getting a daily email or push nudge, and tracking progress is a standard CRUD app plus a cron job
  • The warm, anti-course founder-letter copy and the dark brutalist design are easy to imitate
  • No user history or community exists yet, so a user loses nothing by leaving

How you'd go after it

  • Go deep on one discipline (for example music production with DAW-specific tasks and audio feedback) where a general nudge app can't match the quality of the tasks
  • Give feedback on the work, not just a prompt: users upload their screenshot, track or code, get an AI critique, and that history builds up as lock-in
  • Build accountability through cohorts or pairing, so people return because others expect them, which gives a network a solo app lacks
  • Launch where the audience already is, such as a newsletter or YouTube channel for indie hackers or beginner producers, rather than a cold waitlist

04/Build against it?

Stay away

Plenty of apps already sell the daily micro-practice and AI coach loop, and general chatbots can do it for free. Only worth building with an existing audience in one niche skill, or real feedback on users' work that a general chatbot does badly.
