“A crypto price site is a week of work on a free data API. CoinGecko and CoinMarketCap already own the traffic, the data and the trust.”

01/The verdict

A free-looking crypto price tracker with charts, market data, coin research pages and news, probably paid for by ads or a later subscription.

Denarii sells prices, charts and news, which come from public market data APIs and are easy to rebuild. I found no founder audience, no funding, no press, no reviews and no community. It is also a thin newcomer against CoinMarketCap, CoinGecko, TradingView and CoinStats, which have years of SEO and brand trust.

02/Moats

No moats found. Nothing here would take a good clone longer than 1 week.

03/The gap

Easy to copy

  • Price tables, coin pages and charts that use the same CoinGecko or exchange API data
  • The UI and the research or news layout
  • Coin research pages, which an LLM can generate at scale
  • The domain and the SEO pages, which have no visible authority yet

How you'd go after it

  • Offer the same data with fewer ads and a faster page than CoinMarketCap and CoinGecko
  • Pick a niche, such as one chain's tokens, DeFi yields or memecoins, and cover it deeper
  • Add a free portfolio tracker with wallet sync, which Denarii does not appear to have
  • Build a crypto X or YouTube audience and send it to your own tracker

04/Build against it?

Stay away

The category is crowded with giants that have years of SEO, data deals and brand trust. Only build it if you have a real audience or data edge, for example a niche chain focus or a large following.
