iOS app and web app that works as an AI career coach and work journal. It pulls in selected GitHub activity plus notes and files the user adds. Individual professionals pay $49.99 a year for Pro.

Bloomly is an LLM coach over a personal journal, with a GitHub import and an iOS app. A clone can rebuild all of this in a couple of weeks. The only real hurdles are a GitHub OAuth app, which is easy to get, and the journal history users build up. That history gives a little lock-in. I found no founder audience, funding, community or data advantage, and only 16 App Store ratings.

  • The AI coaching chat is prompts over a user's own notes. Any LLM API reproduces it.
  • The GitHub import uses a standard OAuth app and the public API. A clone can build it in days.
  • Templates, free tools and SEO blog pages are easy to copy.
  • The iOS app, voice notes and reports are ordinary features.

How you'd go after it

  • Give away the coach free inside a tool people already use, such as Notion, Slack or Obsidian.
  • Connect more work sources than GitHub, such as Jira, Linear, Slack and Google Docs. That covers non-engineers, who are most of the market.
  • Sell to teams or managers (promotion packets, 1:1 prep) rather than individuals.
  • Undercut $49.99 a year, or add a Android and web-first experience.

Anyone can copy it quickly, ChatGPT already does most of it, and I found no distribution edge. Only go in with a niche audience, for example engineers at a specific employer type, and a way to reach them cheaply.
