01/The verdict
A done-for-you service for law firms: it designs the intake process, sets up a CRM and trains staff on sales and follow-up, sold through a free 25-minute intake review.
BDI Ops is a consulting and training service, not software. It runs on a vercel.app subdomain, and searches turned up no founder audience, reviews, case studies, press or funding. Clients pay for one-off setup work on CRMs owned by others (Clio Grow, Lawmatics, Law Ruler, HubSpot). When the project ends they keep the system and have no reason to stay, and any legal-ops consultant can offer the same thing.
02/1 moat
Shallow
The value is hands-on work: mapping intake, configuring CRM pipelines and coaching staff. This takes real law-firm intake know-how, not just code. Searches found no proof of BDI Ops' track record or team.
To cross it: Hire or be someone with a few years in PI or immigration intake, write the SOPs and start selling.
03/The gap
Easy to copy
- The CRM setup itself: Clio Grow, Lawmatics and Law Ruler all have onboarding teams and certified partners who do this
- Intake SOPs and scripts, which competitors already sell as ready-made templates
- Sales and follow-up training, a common offer from legal marketing consultants and conferences like PILMMA
- The free intake review used to get leads, which anyone can copy in a day
How you'd go after it
- Become a certified partner for one CRM (Lawmatics or Clio) and get referrals from the vendor
- Pick a niche practice area (PI, immigration, family law) and offer bilingual intake staff on top of the setup, the way The Ops Architect does
- Charge a monthly retainer for intake audits and call scoring so clients keep paying after setup
- Get leads through bar associations and legal marketing communities instead of cold outreach
04/Build against it?
Only with an edge
There is real demand from firms losing leads, but the space is full of agencies and CRM-vendor partners. Only go in if you have law-firm intake experience and a referral channel, such as CRM partner status or a legal community.
