01/The verdict

A $5–9/month tool that gives app developers one link and QR code that sends each visitor to the App Store, Google Play or a web page, plus click analytics and generated landing, privacy and terms pages. Indie developers and small studios pay.

The core product is a user-agent check and a redirect, plus click counts and templated legal pages. It needs no platform approvals, certifications or integrations, and no founder audience shows up in search. Its visible traction is a small Peerlist launch (about 10 upvotes) and a few Product Hunt and directory listings. Dozens of rivals sell or give away the same thing, from onelink.to, which has run since 2011, to free generators. The only thing that holds customers is that printed QR codes and shared links point at its domain.

02/1 moat

Weeks

Customers print apppa.ge links and QR codes on flyers and packaging and share them in app listings, so leaving means reprinting or breaking those links. This only holds existing customers. It does nothing to stop a rival winning new ones.

To cross it: Target new apps and Firebase Dynamic Links refugees who have no links printed yet, and offer custom domains so customers own their links from the start.

03/The gap

Easy to copy

  • Device detection and App Store or Play Store redirects
  • Click analytics by platform, country and referrer
  • QR code generation and short custom slugs
  • Generated landing pages, privacy policy, terms and app-ads.txt hosting

How you'd go after it

  • Offer a free tier with unlimited links, as onestore.link and Hovercode already do, and make money elsewhere
  • Win the 'Firebase Dynamic Links alternative' searches with SEO content and a link importer, since FDL shut down in August 2025
  • Add deferred deep linking and install attribution through a lightweight SDK at indie prices, below Branch's roughly $199 a month
  • Bundle it into a larger indie-dev toolkit (App Store screenshots, ASO, a launch page) so the redirect becomes a free extra

04/Build against it?

Stay away

Free tools already do this. Prices of $5 to $9 a month leave little room. Only build it if you already have an indie-dev audience or a bigger app-marketing product to bundle it into.
