01/The verdict

An AI layer on top of PostHog. It reads a read-only API key and returns UX fix specs, outreach email drafts to users who dropped off, and code patch prompts. Indie SaaS founders pay $49 a month.

Anku reads data from a single source, PostHog's public API, with a read-only key that any developer can create in seconds. It runs that data through an LLM to produce three kinds of output, which a clone or Claude Code with the PostHog MCP server can match in days. The bigger threat is PostHog itself: in June 2026 it launched a 'self-driving' feature that finds problems in product data and drafts pull requests, so Anku is competing with the platform it depends on, and I found no audience, funding or traction that would slow anyone down.

02/Moats

No moats found. Nothing here would take a good clone longer than a week.

03/The gap

Easy to copy

  • The PostHog integration: a public API and a read-only personal key. No partner program or approval is involved.
  • Funnel drop-off analysis and grouping errors by root cause both come from PostHog's own funnel and error-tracking data.
  • Drafting user emails in the 'Mom Test' style and writing fix prompts for AI builders is plain LLM prompting.
  • The weekly Monday scan is a cron job, and the comparison against a baseline is a stored snapshot.

How you'd go after it

  • Support more than PostHog: Mixpanel, Amplitude, GA4 and Sentry. Anku only works with PostHog, so every team outside it is open.
  • Ship it as a free open-source Claude Code or Cursor skill on top of the PostHog MCP server. Developers then get the same report inside their editor.
  • Go after teams that don't want another vendor by pointing them to PostHog's built-in self-driving agents and PR drafts, which they already pay for.
  • Pick one vertical, such as edtech or ecommerce checkout, and offer benchmarks Anku can't, since it has no data across customers.

04/Build against it?

Stay away

PostHog now ships the same diagnose-and-fix workflow natively, and it owns the data, the users and the distribution. A standalone wrapper at $49 a month gets squeezed unless you own a data source or a distribution channel that PostHog doesn't.
